A one-day workshop on “Advanced Tools and Techniques for Writing Research Papers” was successfully organized by the Research Excellence Centre of GNIT College of Management on 6th March 2026. The primary objective of the workshop was to enhance the research writing skills of MBA students by introducing them to modern tools, methodologies, and best practices used in academic research.
The session was conducted by Dr. Manoj Saini, who highlighted the growing importance of research publications in both academic and professional development. He emphasized the need for originality, ethical research practices, and the effective use of digital tools in research writing.
During the technical sessions, Dr. Saini explained the various stages involved in writing a research paper, including identifying a research problem, conducting a literature review, selecting an appropriate research methodology, performing data analysis, and preparing the final manuscript. MBA students were also introduced to several advanced research tools such as reference management software, plagiarism detection tools, and academic databases that help researchers organize their work and improve the quality of their research.
The workshop also focused on citation and referencing techniques, explaining the use of different citation styles such as APA, MLA, and Harvard. Practical demonstrations were provided on how to use digital tools for citation management and how to avoid plagiarism in academic writing. Students also learned effective ways to structure a research paper, including writing abstracts, introductions, literature reviews, methodology, results, and conclusions.
The workshop was highly interactive, providing students with the opportunity to ask questions and discuss their research-related challenges. Overall, the session proved to be highly informative and beneficial, helping students strengthen their research and academic writing skills.
