AKTU Admission 2026: Process, Eligibility, Registration, Last date, Fees
The UPTAC counseling 2026 (also called AKTU counseling 2026) registration period started on May 25, 2026, and ended on June 30, 2026. After that, document verification took place until July 2, 2026.
AKTU released the information brochure for counselling dates on May 18, 2026. This year, AKTU will conduct a total of 7 rounds of counselling, including 4 general rounds, 1 internal sliding round, and 2 special rounds.
The primary criterion for AKTU admission in 2026 is entrance exams. The JEE Main Rankings determine admission to AKTU's flagship B.Tech program, which is then subject to the UPTAC counselling procedure. Admission to other courses is done based on the scores attained in the CUET and CUET PG exams.
Although AKTU grants admission in many UG and PG programs based on the CUET exam, JEE Main is the only entrance exam accepted by AKTU for B. Tech admissions. JEE Main replaced the UPCET exam for B.Tech admission in the 2021 academic year.
There are two requirements for getting admission in AKTU:
- Passing the JEE Main exam
- Showing up for the AKTU-conducted counselling process.
For other management UG and PG programs, applicants may submit their CAT, MAT, XAT, and CMAT exam results. Apart from accepting GATE, NET, and GPAT scores for Ph.D. courses, AKTU also accepts a research-based entrance exam and conducts an interview process for Ph.D. admission.
The Abdul Kalam Technical University started its B.Tech counselling registrations from May 25, 2026, and concluded on June 30, 2026. The admissions will be provided through 7 rounds of counselling, which will continue till August 14, 2026. Candidates will find all the admission notices and seat allocation results on the official website, uptac.admissions.nic.in, after each round of counselling.
The university's interview round serves as the basis for the final selection. In this post, we will learn about the AKTU registration process, AKTU B.Tech fees, Eligibility Criteria, important dates, etc.
